Let people pick up unassigned shifts and swap the ones they can't make.

Open shifts
Leave a published shift unassigned and it becomes an open shift your team can see and claim from their own schedule. It's a simple way to cover a gap without you chasing people one by one.
Swaps
If someone can't make a shift, they can request a swap. The swap goes through the proper channel rather than a corridor conversation, so the rota stays the source of truth and you keep visibility of who's actually working.
Where your team finds this
Team members open My schedule from the Hub menu, where they'll see their own week, any open shifts they're eligible to claim, and swap requests.
The same conflict checks apply — someone can't claim a shift that clashes with one they already have or with approved leave.
