Setting up job positions
Create the job roles your shifts and timesheets are labelled with.
Positions are the job roles in your business — barista, supervisor, chef, whatever your team does. They're the labels the rest of miaHQ hangs off, so it's worth setting them up early.
Create a position
- Open Positions (in the Scheduler hub, or under Manage).
- Add a position with a name and an on-brand colour chip so it's easy to spot on the grid.
Where positions show up
- On the rota — every shift is assigned a position, colour-coded on the week grid.
- On clock entries — a clock-in can carry the job someone worked, which flows through to their timesheet.
- In scheduling checks — miaHQ can warn you if you roster someone for a position they aren't tagged for.
Keep the list tight and meaningful — a handful of clear positions beats a long tail of near-duplicates.
