Getting started with Animal Care
What the Animal Care module is, who it's for, and how the pieces fit together.
Animal Care is an optional module for businesses that look after animals — keeping welfare logs, veterinary-medicine records and routine health checks in one place, ready for inspection.
Animal Care is switched on per account. If you don't see it in your menus, it isn't enabled for you yet — get in touch and we'll turn it on.
Two ways it's used
- Your team on the ground do the daily round from their Hub — logging observations, medicines given, and health checks as they go.
- Managers set up the animals, medication schedules and check routines, and review anything that's been flagged.
The main pieces
- Animal records — a profile per animal, with compliance details for food-producing animals. See Animal records.
- The daily round — today's animals and what's due, plus quick welfare observations. See The daily round.
- Medicine records — an inspection-ready log of everything administered, plus the holding's medicine book. See Medicine records and the medicine book.
- Health checks — routine checks on a schedule, with reminders. See Health checks.
Managers find all of this under Animals (in the Manage menu), which opens on an Overview of what needs attention — animals to monitor, medicines and checks due, and open flags.
