Why we're building miaHQ to feel calm

Most team software is loud, busy and stressful. We think the tool that runs your week should feel like the opposite. Here's the thinking behind miaHQ.

Open most staff-management software and you're hit with a wall: red badges, twelve menu items, a dashboard that assumes you came to use the software rather than run a café, a farm park or a shop. We wanted to build the opposite.

Calm is a feature, not a mood

When you're mid-shift and someone's off sick, you don't need a tool that adds to the noise. You need to open one screen, see who's on, fix the gap, and close the laptop. Every decision in miaHQ is measured against that: does this make the next five minutes calmer, or busier?

Fewer things, done properly

It's tempting to add every feature a competitor has. We'd rather do the handful of things a shift-based business actually needs — scheduling, time tracking, time off, and knowing your team — and make each one feel effortless. A smaller tool you'll actually use beats a bigger one you dread opening.

Human first, admin second

The point of all this isn't the admin. It's the people. When the rota builds itself and the timesheets add up on their own, you get time back for the part of the job that's actually about looking after your team. That's the trade we're chasing.

Built with the people using it

miaHQ is in early access with a small group of real businesses, and they shape what ships next. If that sounds like how you'd want your software built, we'd love to have you in.
